Why I Am Exists...
to break the cycle of hopelessness and youth incarceration. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides community-based resources and experiences to underserved youth and young adults (ages 12-24) in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, to empower and inspire them to overcome life’s challenges through self-discovery.
As a faith-based organization, Why I Am starts by teaching Kingdom principles and leadership skills for life. Participants gain the key to unlocking their potential by applying skills learned within the program through exposure and exploration in a variety of activities, workshops, and experiences.
Why I Am provides access to leading resources such as: hands-on mentorship, recreational therapy, court advocacy, forgiveness, financial capability, health and fitness, civic duty, and career and job readiness, that will help equip each participant for the future of their choice.
We are a safe and inviting space for youth and young adults as they embark on their journey of self-discovery to adulthood.
